Power Hour

Galaxy Press has teamed up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to provide books for their daily Power Hour!

North America has over 5,000 Boys & Girls Clubs, serving over 3.6 million youth and teens.

Their Mission: To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Their Vision: Provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters their doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

During Power Hour, the clubs create a setting where young people can do homework, get tutored learning, and participate in group activities including Book Clubs. All activities are supervised, and the young people are assisted to engage with their material.

The response from the Boys & Girls Clubs has been immediate and enthusiastic. Now we are expanding the program to give young readers an entire library of adventure!

With your help, each participating Boys & Girls Club will receive 11 of L. Ron Hubbard’s Stories from the Golden Age books plus a Discussion Guide Book covering 23 short stories.

The stories take young readers from mysteries and adventures to science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction—giving them a wide variety of entertaining stories to discover and enjoy.

The Discussion Guide Book turns the collection into a ready-made resource for Power Hour and Book Club activities, with story summaries, historical background and questions that encourage discussion about courage, responsibility, problem-solving, justice, leadership and making difficult choices.
